About the Journal
Based on the second-stage license number 2602/9, dated 1394/9/14 (05.12.2015), issued by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, and letter number 60538/18/3, dated1396/03/24 (14.06.2017), issued by the Director-General of the Office for Policy-making and Planning in Research of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, Literary Theory and Criticism has successfully earned the Scientific-Research rank from the first number (Spring-Summer 2015). Derived from our former journal Adab Pazhouhi (Literary Research) (https://adab.guilan.ac.ir), Literary Theory and Criticism collaborates with the Scientific Society of Persian Language and Literature. The authors retain the copyright and full publishing rights without restrictions.

  • A study of the background and philosophical-epistemological and methodological foundations of literary theory (philosophy and literary theory and literature).
  • An introduction to literary theories and the paradigmatic and discourse context of their emergence and their classification in networks of theories (Metatheory).
  • Critical consideration of discourse on the emergence and dissemination of literary criticism and theory (discourse studies).
  • Revision of thematic principles and stereotypes of criticism and theory in Iran (metacritique).
  • Focusing on Iran`s literary research, we will consider the basics and mechanisms of multifaceted and interdisciplinary criticism (basic knowledge and methodological knowledge).
  • Pathology of the fate of concepts and terms in literary criticism and theory in Iran (terminology)
  • Presenting the best examples of objective and concrete text criticism by theorists and theoretical critics.
  • Introducing new or lesser-known theories and presenting their possibilities and limitations.
  • Rereading the texts and conceptualizing and theorizing their data and statements
  • Systematic and concrete critique of old and new works and texts (Criticism of the works discussed should be confined to the field of Persian literature and texts. Or in the field of comparative criticism, non-Iranian thinkers and Iranians worked side by side and analyzed in opposition.)
