One of the functions of the narrative setting is to prepare a platform for explaining the nature and characteristics of the character. The choice of how to present the setting staging specific aspects of the characters and the type of narration leads the reader to understand the sub-layers of the text. The present article is dedicated to how the setting is crystallized and its connection with the character in the connected story collection of Azadaran-e Bayal by Gholamhossein Saedi. The method of analysis and review of the effect on combined narratology, means using the opinions of theorists in the field of narration has been done. Narrative setting in this work shows that the locality and command of setting has left its influence and lasting influence on all the elements of the stories. Bayal village is a macro place of text and a platform for the life of fictional characters, which is provided to show the dominance and influence of the setting on the psychological-emotional space and the narrative space. Bayal's placement at the center of the narrative of eight stories depict the symbolic aspect of the place, which owes to the artistic invention of the real writer. The characters are placed along the setting and transformed into a part of it. In order to revive itself, Bayal's place takes a victim every time from among the inactive, surrendered and helpless characters. And the reader in the process of reading plays a complementary role in recreating the scene and character.
