Conceptual art is a new type of visual arts that cannot be evaluated by the conventional aesthetic standards of art. This type of visual art rises against the customary aesthetic standards of art, and with its highly revolutionary and rebellious spirit, it takes concepts such as beauty, form and material away from itself. Such qualities give rise to this question that in the absence of beauty, form and material, what factor remains that can keep conceptual art in the realm of art and can consider it as a type of art. In this article, I have shown that in the absence of the conventional components of visual arts, conceptual art tends towards a kind of linguistic-narrative art and activates the component of poeticality. However, what exists of poeticality in Conceptual art has nothing to do with the conventional definition of poetry neither, but is related to the mechanisms that create poeticality at a very macro level; Metaphor, de-familiarization and self-referentiality can be mentioned among them.
